HOW to take advantage of the rapidly developing market of IT service providers is the thrust of a seminar to be presented by US outsourcing expert Professor Rudy Hirschheim.
An international expert in IT outsourcing who has consulted to the Commission for the EC, British Telecom, Texaco, Compaq, Xerox, Exxon, Shell, BHP, South African reserve Bank and the World Bank, Prof. Hirschheim holds the Tenneco/Chase International Chair and is Professor of Information Systems at the University of Houston.
He is also the former Director of Information Systems Research Centre and has published two books on outsourcing.
“An important change is taking place in outsourcing IT activity,” he said. “The high profile outsourcing events that captured the headlines in the past have tended to obscure the real phenomenon – a significant and irreversible move towards selective sourcing.”
Organised by Edith Cowan University School of Management Information Centre, the seminar will be held at Royal Perth Yacht Club on February 22 at 4pm ($65 pp). Contact Laima Croft at Curtin University: 9273 8022, Email: l.croft@ecu.edu.au.
