IT firms receive awards

STATE Development Minster Clive Brown has presented three WA firms with awards recognising their innovation in the information and communications technology sector.

The three companies were the WA winners in the ‘Discover The Secrets of Australian IT Innovation’ competition, held as part of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Adelaide in February.

Secure Systems Ltd has developed hardware-based computer security technologies for the banking and credit card industries. The products allow the safe storage of data on computers (without the need for firewalls or data encryption) and the safe transmission of data over the Internet.

Norwood Systems Pty Ltd is developing a new class of wireless communications infrastructure for the work environment. The company has developed products that use bluetooth, an emerging wireless technology.

PIVoD Technologies develops video-on-demand technology and integrates it with control and management systems. The technology can be used in entertainment complexes as well as entertainment and communications systems for residential and corporate needs.
