THE Subiaco Wine Room has sold to the owners of its neighbour, icon establishment the Subiaco Hotel.
The deal was signed late last week and still has to make its way through liquor licensing authorities and the Subiaco Council.
Subiaco Hotel proprietor Michael Monaghan said he believed there was a strong market for late night bars offering food.
“I foresee an opportunity. Basically I believe there is a niche in the market,” Mr Monaghan said.
“Melbourne and Sydney are full of them and there is not one in Perth.”
Neither he nor Subiaco Wine Room proprietor Andrew Charlston would discuss the agreed price for the venue, which opened in June last year.
Mr Monaghan said he was arranging for his Melbourne-based designer to fly in tomorrow to examine the establishment.
