ICT and the resources sector: Working together to capitalise on the boom

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is hosting its inaugural resources sector ICT symposium, November 10 at the Perth Convention Centre.The symposium will provide a forum for resource sector specialists to brief the ICT industry on ICT initiatives and procurement plans.Deputy Premier and Treasurer Eric Ripper will open the forum and introduce a host of speakers including:•Tim Shanahan – CEO, Chamber of Minerals & Energy;•Dan Miklovic – international resources sector specialist for Gartner;•Peter Viney – deputy director general, Office of Science, Technology & Innovation, Department of Industry & Resources;•Richard Ellis – director government affairs (WA), Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association;•David Kobelke – director, Industry Capability Network & Project Connect;•Nadia Rom – chief information officer, BHP Billiton Stainless Steel; and•Jason Cowie – chief information officer, Macmahon Group.Registration for this event costs $110 for AIIA members and $145 for non members.For more information contact Sue Williams on 6468 1622.
