CORPORATE interior design company, Interiors Australia, has relaunched as the IA Group to gain greater market recognition for its integrated services and to banish the image of corporate interior design as “cushion scatterering”.
Comprising four companies – Interiors Australia, InTec 1, Design Environment and IA Projects – the IA Group will offer commercial, retail and hospitality interior design along with construction, project management and security solutions.
The IA Group has introduced its InTec 1 division into the Perth market in response to heightened security awareness in the commercial sector.
Western Australian IA Group director Michael Avila said incorporating security solutions into master planning and design would give the company a point of difference in the Perth market.
He said Intec 1 had a proven track record of providing security solutions to clients such as ASIO, Department of Defence and the Australian Crime Commission.
The incorporation of security measures at the design phase saves the client money and allows them to be melded seamlessly into the corporate environment, Mr Avila told WA Business News.
The group also plans to develop a stronger focus on project management through its IA Projects division.
“We have expanded our internal capacity and introduced a wider range of services,” he said.
Mr Avila said growth opportunities had been limited while the company had operated under its old Interiors Australia moniker.
He said the new name and structure would be a spring-board to further growth and development of the company.
However, even with the introduction of Intec1 and IA Projects, Mr Avila said the group’s core business would remain focused on “designing for the changing workplace”.
Originally a Federal Government agency, IA Group evolved into private enterprise after a buyout in 1997. Since privatisation, the Perth office has grown 300 per cent, with 30 per cent growth in the past 12 months.
“We have expanded our internal capacity and introduced a wider range of services.”
