Horne, Walker depart Macmahon

Macmahon Holdings non-executive director Kim Horne and non-executive chairman Jim Walker have both resigned from the board.

At around 8.30am AEST today, Macmahon informed the market Mr Horne resigned from the board.

“Macmahon has commenced a process to replace Mr Horne as part of its continued strategy to ensure optimal board composition,” it said.

Mr Horne served in role since March 2018.

In the statement to the ASX, Mr Walker thanked Mr Horne for his contribution to the company during his tenure.

“Kim has been a highly valued member of the Macmahon board,” he said.

“His contribution has been appreciated and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Just three and a half hours later, Macmahon issued another statement to the ASX announcing that Mr Walker would be leaving the board.

Non-executive director Eva Skira was appointed as interim chair of the board.

Ms Skira thanked Mr Walker for his contribution to the company, serving as chairman since 2014.

“Jim’s commitment and strategic guidance has been greatly appreciated and the board and management would like to express their gratitude to Jim for the significant contribution he has made to Macmahon,” she said.

“Macmahon has a process underway for future director appointments and will provide an update when additional directors are appointed,” she said.

Apart from Ms Skira, Macmahon now has three directors.

Earlier this month, Macmahon announced it acquired GBF for at least $48 million, and said founders Michael Foulds and Ross Graham would join the board of Macmahon-subsidiary Orminex.
