Home sales trends develop

AFFORDABLE housing sales continue to dominate what is becoming a visible shift towards the first homebuyer market, according to RP Data. Perth recorded the most significant shift in the price of houses sold, with house values above $800,000 comprising just 10 per cent of all house sales in the second half of 2008 compared to 16 per cent in the second half of 2007. The report also revealed that only Perth and Sydney recorded an increase in market share in houses priced under $300,000, with most buyers seeking properties priced between $300,000 and $500,000.
