Perth Airport chief commercial and aviation officer Kate Holsgrove has been selected to chair Tourism Council WA following the resignation of long-serving Andrew Hill.
Ms Holsgrove has sat on the tourism agency’s board since 2020 and takes over as chair from outgoing Mr Hill, who served on the board for 17 years.
Ms Holsgrove joined Perth Airport as chief commercial officer in 2019 and served a 12-month stint as acting chief executive from December 2022 before being appointed as the airport’s chief commercial and aviation officer late last year.
Prior to this, Ms Holsgrove worked as regional manager WA at Scentre Group, which operates Westfield shopping centres, and worked in similar roles for Scentre Group in NSW and ACT.
Ms Holsgrove was a Business News 40under40 Award winner in 2021.
Mr Hill previously worked at Crown Perth for more than 20 years, most recently as chief operating officer food, beverage and entertainment, before departing the company in July 2023.
He recently commenced a new job as executive director – west at facilities management provider Sirrom Corporation.
Tourism Council WA chief executive Evan Hall told Business News Mr Hill made a significant contribution to the tourism industry as well as the council itself during his tenure.
“He was an absolute stalwart and provided great leadership to the council, particularly during COVID,” Mr Hall said.
“He did that with grace and dedication.
“Our board is a mixture of appointed and elected members who represent a wide variety of areas in the tourism sector.
“Kate has been part of the board for some time and she’s ready and keen to stand up [as chair].”
