Businessman Peter Holmes a Court, son of the late Robert Holmes a Court, has quit his director position with Queensland Rail.
Queensland Treasurer Andrew Fraser told state parliament today that Mr Holmes a Court was leaving to pursue other opportunities.
"Mr Holmes a Court has had to relinquish this position and positions on a number of other boards as he prepares to take on a new venture in New South Wales," Mr Fraser said.
Mr Holmes a Court's resignation comes as new boards are being assembled for both Queensland Rail and QR National, which will soon be privatised.
Mr Holmes a Court sold out of the family business about a decade ago to pursue other ambitions including running agribusiness AACo and being joint owner of National Rugby League club, South Sydney Rabbitohs.
