A restructure within Austal has resulted in chief operating officer Peter Hogan leaving after seven months with the Henderson-based shipbuilder.
The company today said it will consolidate its global sales organisation and Australian operations to create a level of symmetry between its US and Australian operations.
"Combining the global sales activities with the activities associated with design, procurement, production and service as it relates to our Australian facilities will serve to create a more seamless value chain," Austal chief executive Bob Browning said.
Andrew Bellamy has been charged to lead the new unit as director of sales and Australian operations. He formerly held the position of director of global sales and marketing.
As a result of the reorganisation, Austal chief executive Bob Browning said Mr Hogan will leave.
Mr Hogan, a former Boral divisional general manager, was appointed in February.
