Hodgson family link to Subi buy

Richmond WA director Ian Beacham has purchased a Subiaco office building from the Pharmaceutical Society of Western Australia for $2 million.

Mr Beacham, who is a director at the key family business of Hodgson Group, Richmond WA, bought 21 Hamilton Street earlier this year, RP data records show.

The property was purchased for $1.9 million, plus GST.

Hodgson Group, founded by rich lister Michael Hodgson, is one of the state’s largest landowners, with industrial and agricultural assets.

Richmond WA is owned by Michael Hodgson, his daughter Leah Smith, Suzanne Hodgson, and Ian Beacham.

The company is registered in Daglish, but the recent deal opens the possibility of the business relocating.

Sterling Property senior partner Jack Bradshaw brokered the deal for the 334 square metre building on a 468sqm site. 

Mr Bradshaw said the property was purchased by a private family office buyer, further solidifying Subiaco's status as an emerging premium family office precinct.

The building was previously occupied by the Pharmaceutical Society, who also developed the property in 1989.

Richmond WA brought in a chief executive this year in David Ockenden, who previously helmed ASX-listed GDI Property Group.

David’s wife Sally Ockenden replaced him as head of development at GDI.
