TOP chefs from Australia and around the world will share their secrets at the 1999 WA MasterClass Weekend to be held at the Parmelia Hilton Perth on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July.
This year is the first time the event has an international guest with renowned chef Rick Stein of The Seafood Restaurant in the UK.
His television series, Rick Stein’s Seafood Odyssey, recently started on the ABC on Wednesday nights and his best selling books are characterised by no-fuss recipes.
Mr Stein will give practical classes with tastings of his recipes and will also hold demonstrations and discussions on matching wine with seafood with Australia’s ‘King of the Riesling’ Jeffrey Grosset.
Other guests include Janni Kyritsis of Sydney’s MG Garage, who is acclaimed for his Australian-with-a-touch-of-Greek food.
Jacques Reymond of Melbourne’s Jacques Reymond Restaurant will display his innovative style of modern cuisine using classical French techniques.
Other presenters include Liam Tomlin of Sydney’s Banc, Melbourne pastry chef Loretta Sartori and cheese expert Will Studd.
There will be tasting sessions in the Wine Room with Caroline Dunn and Wendy Stuckey from Wolf Blass and WA experts Peter Forrestal, Ray Jordan, Vanya Cullen and Steve Charters MW – who is one of 230 Masters of Wine in the world.
Tickets for either Saturday or Sunday are $215 per person, or $390 per person for both days, and may be booked on
