HiTec’s R&D grant

LOCAL portable energy technology developer HiTec Energy has secured a $357,575 AusIndustry R&D Start Grant.

The grant will assist HiTec pursue further research and development work directed at commercialising its solvent extraction process. This technology is used in the production of high-grade electrolytic manganese dioxide for export to the premium quality alkaline battery manufacturers.

HiTec Energy has applied for a patent covering the use of this technology.

The company plans to convert a Kalgoorlie solvent extraction plant into an electrolytic manganese dioxide plant next year.
