Here’s cheers

HOUGHTON Wines recently released 2000 Houghton Frankland River Shiraz has won a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2003.

Houghton also won silver medals for the 2002 Frankland River Riesling, the 2001 Pemberton Chardonnay, the 2003 Pemberton Sauvignon Blanc and the 1999 Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon.

Houghton senior wine maker Larry Cherubino said the win was evidence of the emergence of the Frankland River region as a producer of quality wines.

The 2000 Houghton Frankland River Shiraz has also been shortlisted for the prestigious Schenker Australian Wine Producer of the Year Award.
