A LANDSCAPING master plan to develop eco-tourism and recreation facilities as part of the Harvey Dam has been released.
The landscaping concept plan was developed by the Water Corporation in conjunction with the Shire of Harvey.
The main parkland development below the new dam wall incorporates an amphitheatre and two stages.
The facilities could be used to host Leeuwin-style concerts and cultural events for up to 1,000 people.
Once completed, the park’s facilities will be ceded to the Shire of Harvey for future management and operation.
Funds from a $1.6 million memorandum of understanding signed in March between the Water Corporation and the shire will contribute to the ongoing running and maintenance costs of the area.
The Harvey Dam is being built to secure future water supplies for Harvey, Mandurah, Perth and the Goldfields.
