Albany accountant Russell Harrison has been appointed chairperson of the Great Southern Development Commission.
Mr Harrison was born and brought up in the Great Southern, before gaining accountancy qualifications at the University of Western Australia.
For the past decade he has been a principal of Lincoln's Accountants in Albany.
Mr Harrison has been treasurer and management board member of the Albany Business Centre, and financial adviser to the Albany Hospice.
GSDC deputy chairperson Carolyn Daniel will now retire from the role of acting chairperson, which she assumed when former chairperson Bruce Sutherland resigned to join a national consulting firm in Perth.
Mr Harrison’s appointment is until November 2005.
Lincoln’s has become one of regional WA’s largest accounting firms.
