Board changes
Toro Energy has appointed professional director Fiona Harris as chair, replacing Erica Smyth who has elected to retire after nine years in the role. Ms Harris is currently a non-executive director at BWP Trust and Perron Group, and is a former president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Toro’s founding managing director and current non-executive director Greg Hall has also retired.
Tony James has been appointed managing director of Mungana Goldmines. Mr James was most recently managing director of Mutiny Gold, which has now been taken over by Doray Minerals. Former Alacer Gold Corp executive vice president Chris Newman has joined Mungana as geology manager.
Mark Hine has joined Ausdrill as a non-executive director. Mr Hine is chief operating officer at Griffin Mining and is a former chief operating officer at Focus Minerals and former CEO of Golden West Resources.
Base Resources has appointed former Woodside and Shell senior executive Keith Spence as an independent non-executive director. Mr Spence is currently chairman of Geodynamics and the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority.
Piotr Kosowicz has joined Balamara Resources as an executive director. Mr Kosowicz is chief executive officer of Polish company Carbon Investment, which Balamara acquired last year.
Cash Converters International has appointed HopgoodGanim partner Kevin Dundo to the board of directors. Mr Dundo is currently chairman of Red 5 and a non-executive director at Imdex.
Emerchants has appointed its non-executive director and substantial shareholder Peter Martin to replace Bob Browning as chairman. Mr Martin was formerly CEO of Rothschild Australia Asset Management. Mr Browning remains on the Emerchants board.
