Halting Roe 8 not justified: Jacob

Western Australia's environment minister says there is no justification to stop work on the Roe 8 project, despite a Senate inquiry saying the Commonwealth should suspend approval for it.

The Senate committee released its findings yesterday after hearing evidence of legally binding environmental conditions being breached through the clearing of wetlands for the $1.9 billion Perth Freight Link road project.

The committee recommended the federal environment minister suspend construction work until it could be assured all approval conditions had been met by the WA government and relevant contractors.

Of course it would like it is politically driven exercise by Labour and Greens if the EPA, Liberals and the Contractor didnt bother to show up to the Senate Inquiry. Shame on on you Albert Jacobs

Has anyone actually interviewed say 25% of the onsite protesters? some questions for them: 1. will the row8 cause any financial impact on you or your work place? 2.Do you live close by? 3.How long have you live near to Roe8 4.have you been involved in other Environmental protests? 5.which ones? 6.Are you happy that cancelling Row8 will increase deaths on Leach Hwy and other roads? 7.In short words what actual species will be extinct as a result of Roe8? 8.Do you have education above yr 12? 9.Do you have full time paid employment? 10. are you aware that most of houses close by have been built on supporting land to wetlands ? 11.is your house one of them? 12. do you use bridges and roads that have gone through wetlands in history? this should reveal how much to respect protesters...
