HR software must customise

An enduring human resource management software system should be easy to customise, says Oracle regional sales and marketing manager Susan Hamilton.

“Off-the-shelf systems are fine as long as configurability is built-in and can be achieved without having to al-ter the program,” Ms Hamilton said.

“A HRM solution cannot work in isolation – it must be able to talk to other applications.”

Ms Hamilton said the best HRM solutions grew with a company.

“With our system, the Oracle HRMS, most executives are familiar with an Internet browser interface so all the user has to do is point-and-click,” she said.

“The ‘super users’ can choose more complicated screens.”

Oracle regional marketing manager of applications software George Slater said Internet-based transactions were the way of the future.
