Perth mining executive Vanessa Guthrie has announced her resignation as managing director of uranium-focused Toro Energy.
Dr Guthrie joined Toro in 2011 as executive general manager of the company’s Wiluna project, before being promoted to managing director and CEO in early 2013.
Her resignation takes effect from today. An interim replacement was not disclosed.
“Dr Guthrie leaves Toro well placed to continue to deliver on its business plan,” Toro said in a statement.
“The board thanks Dr Guthrie for the valuable contribution and service she has made on the growth and advancement of the company, and wishes her well in her future endeavours.”
Dr Guthrie became the first woman to be elected as the chair of the Minerals Council of Australia in June.
Shares in Toro were 5.2 per cent lower to 3.6 cents each at midday.
