LOCAL recruitment firm Gryphon Consultants has acquired the IT division of Placer Personnel Group.
Gryphon managing director Tony Ciallella remained tight-lipped on the financial aspects of the deal, but said: “It’s a vendor financing relationship where we’ve taken over their IT contracts and their IT clients and the general recruitment business has been sold off to another company.
“The [IT recruitment] market has been very tough … and there has been some consolidation in the IT recruitment space.”
Mr Ciallella said the recruitment market was an employees’ market and that the industry needed to address the greater needs of its clients.
David Lewin, who was managing director of Placer Personnel Group prior to the selling off of its divisions, has moved to Gryphon Consultants as a senior consultant.
Jan Spriggs acquired the white collar and secretarial division of Placer Personnel Group.
Ms Spriggs previously owned Southern Staff Management and Redline Recruitment and, until last year, held the position of State president of the recruitment industry’s peak body, Recruitment Consulting Services Association.
