ANGLICAN Homes Inc may not be a name that immediately springs to mind for a business survey, yet this organisation is a major Western Australian enterprise.
It is one of the State’s largest aged care agencies, with five nursing homes, 13 hostels and 19 retirement villages.
Anglican Homes also has a wide range of home support services for people wishing to live in their own homes.
Chief executive officer Paul Wilmot heads more than 600 full-time staff and 400 part-time staff.
The organisation’s assets are worth $200 million and its annual turnover was $39 million in 2001-02.
Its latest project was a $4.9 million nursing home in Kalgoorlie, developed in response to a crisis in aged care in the region.
Funding for its projects comes from a variety of sources, including internal funds, donations and bequests, government grants, capital contributions from residents and the Lotteries Commission.
Anglican Homes is the principal aged care agency of the Anglican Diocese of Perth, having served the community since 1962.
