The state government’s superannuation board is outsourcing some of its services to Melbourne-based Frontier Advisors, having awarded the firm a $12.2 million contract.

Frontier has been tasked with providing investment advice to government employees, as well as financial market insights and investment manager assessments on behalf of the Government Employees Superannuation Board of WA (GESB).

Established in 1939, GESB administers the superannuation and retirement savings of current and former public sector workers, with a portfolio of more than $35 billion (as at September 30).

Jo Gaines was recently appointed non-executive chair of the board.

GESB awarded the contract to Frontier in December ahead of four other companies, according to the Tenders WA website.

It is due to expire in January 2028 but can be extended to January 2031.
