The state government has appointed seven building companies to deliver construction and refurbishment projects under its WA Recovery Plan.

The Department of Communities has appointed five companies to a design and construct panel, to work on a range of single and grouped housing works.

They are ABN Group subsidiary Dale Alcock Homes, Greg Moore’s Building Development Group Constructions, Shelford Constructions, Now Living and Sam Minniti’s Carrisa Pty Ltd.

Carrisa will undertake the work through Zircon Projects; Carrisa also trades as high-end builder Domination Homes.

The second panel, which will undertake refurbishment works, will comprise Shelford along with AT Brine & Sons and AT & DE Wilson.

The two panels will undertake works over two years, with the option of an extension.

A statement from housing minister Peter Tinley said the proponents were chosen for their expertise in housing refurbishment and/or designing, and constructing affordable, high-quality, environmentally sustainable, innovative and accessible housing.

Mr Tinley said they also demonstrated their commitment to engage and promote Aboriginal employment, apprenticeship and subcontracting opportunities.

"The panels represent an exciting opportunity for the private sector and state government to work together to create inclusive, safe and affordable places for people to live,” Mr Tinley said.

When he announced plans for the panel in June, Mr Tinley said it would deliver housing more quickly and efficiently, as well as reduce time and costs associated with engaging suitable contractors for multiple projects.
