Government to build stadium

THE State Government has revealed it will pay $160 million to establish a new multi-purpose indoor stadium, after knocking back three proposed designs for the arena.A 14,000-seat venue has been earmarked for the Northbridge link site, with the design open to proposals from architects Australia-wide. Multiplex submitted three different design proposals to the government, all of which were rejected. The eventual design will be announced in November.In July the government put up $50 million to fund the construction of the facility.
