Government makes e-com call

WOOL marketing has gone digital with the launch of the first industry alliance between an electronic wool selling system, brokers and growers.

The e-wool supply alliance involves nine wool brokers with an established base of growers representing 17.5 per cent of the Australian clip and e-wool, Australia’s first electronic wool trader.

An e-wool spokesman said the alliance would guarantee a consistent supply into the electronic marketing system.

The e-wool system is already used by twenty leading processors and exporters representing mills around the world.

E-wool managing director Peter Vandeleur said the company was now represented by brokers with business in every Australian state.
