Government Grants - Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund

Grants totalling $9.3 million will go to WA local governments and community groups, for the construction or improvement of 144 sporting facilities.

More than $6 million has been allocated to regional projects, with $2 million of this assisting indigenous communities.

Major allocations include: $1.5 million for a Halls Creek aquatic centre; $1 million for a Serpentine-Jarrahdale recreation centre; $1.06 million for an indoor aquatic centre at Leonora; $700,000 for the redevelopment of Victoria Park’s Somerset Swimming Pool; $600,000 to the Town of Vincent for new facilities as a part of the Football Centre of Excellence at Leederville Oval; and $243,180 to the Kalumburu Aboriginal Corporation for a multi-purpose recreation facility.
