Lotteries Commission
A Lotteries Commission cheque for $116,000 has been presented to Jobmate.
Victoria Park Jobmate, Successful, Training, Employment and Promotion Service (STEPS) and Armadale-Kelmscott Job Link have merged to form Extra Edge Services, with new headquarters in Cannington.
The Lotteries Commission funds will be used for furnishings, office equipment, computers and library resource materials for the Cannington office.
Regional Development Scheme
The Gascoyne Development Commission has allocated grants of between $14,000 and $72,000 to seven projects, including an Exmouth marine research centre concept plan, refurbishment of the Learmonth jetty, and a school chaplain/youth worker for Carnarvon.
State Drought Assistance Package
A further $1.7 million from this October 2002 package has been allocated in grants of up to $15,000, for on-farm water supplies.
WA Regional Initiatives Scheme
In a second round of allocations from this scheme, a total of $1.3 million is to go towards numerous projects, including employment and leadership training, business support initiatives, and arts and industry development.
Western Australian Women's Grants
Community organisations, key interest groups and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to $2,000 to encourage greater participation of women in the community.
Scheme priorities include projects benefiting young women, indigenous women, women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women in rural, remote and regional areas and women with disabilities.
