Golding brings in $25m contract for NRW

NRW Holdings’ recently acquired east coast business, Golding Contractors, has been hired to provide its services to a coal mine in Queensland under a $25 million contract.

Golding will provide drill and blast, overburden mining and coal mining activities at Fitzroy Australia Resources’ Broadlea mine in the Bowen Basin, with the contract to run for 12 months.

The contract win comes just days after NRW closed its $85 million acquisition of Golding, which was announced in mid-August.

“It’s very satisfying to see the recent acquisition of Golding Contractors delivering early results for NRW through a new mining contract and further opportunities on the east coast,” NRW managing director Jules Pemberton said.

Golding chief executive Geoff Caton said the company looked forward to working with Fitzroy to recommence open cut operations at Broadlea.

NRW shares were 1.1 per cent higher to $1.07 each at midday.
