Gold Fields extends Perenti contract
Barminco will continue providing services to Gold Fields' Agnew operations until December 2023.

Perenti’s underground mining division has secured a $200 million extension of works on Gold Fields’ Agnew operations in Western Australia.

The works, awarded to Barminco, have been extended until December 23 and were driven by an increase in development and production at the goldmine, Perenti said.

Agnew sits 23 kilometres west of Leinster, in the Goldfields-Esperance region, and produces more than 250,000 ounces of gold each year.

Barminco, acquired by Perenti (formeryl Ausdrill) in late 2018, has provided services to the mine since 2010.

Perenti managing director Mark Norwell said the company was delighted to extend the Barminco-Gold Fields partnership.

“Part of our 2025 group strategy is to organically grow this part of the business,” he said.

“The recent achievements of Barminco in this regard are a result of the strong relationships we share with our clients and the value we create for them through our world class underground mining capabilities.”

Shares in Perenti closed up 3 per cent on Monday to trade at $1.34.
