Redcliffe-based Global Construction Services has secured a $24 million contract for works at Brookfield Multiplex's City Square project in Perth.
Under the deal, GCS, through its subsidiary CASC Constructions, will provide formwork and concrete installation for the project over 18 months starting in March next year.
The contract is the second City Square agreement for CASC, with the project due for completion in 2011.
The announcement is pasted below:
Construction services group Global Construction Services (ASX: GCS, "GCS Group") is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a major formwork and concrete contract at Brookfield Multiplex's City Square Project in the Perth CBD.
The contract, valued at $24 million, has been awarded to GCS Group business division CASC Constructions Pty Ltd (CASC).
Under the terms of the contract, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation for the project over an estimated 18 month period, commencing in March 2009. Newave Contracting Pty Ltd will act as the primary subcontractor to CASC on the project.
This follows an initial contract secured by CASC earlier this year to provide formwork and concrete for the 'basement raft package' at the City Square Project.
GCS Group Managing Director Enzo Gullotti said the contract win reflected GCS's ability to secure repeat work from its customers.
"We're delighted to have been successful in our bid to Brookfield Multiplex on this high profile project," said Mr Gullotti.
"One of GCS Group's strengths is its long term client relationships, which continue to provide us with a strong pipeline of opportunities, together with our ability to deliver personalised quality service to meet out customer's requirements."
The City Square Project located at 125 St George's Terrace in Perth is a bold new commercial development in the heart of the Perth CBD, reflecting the latest design in corporate workplace facilities.
The 70,000m2 development is a mix of retail and commercial tenancies as well as new concepts in restaurants, bars and coffee shops surrounded by Perth Heritage buildings. The centerpiece of the development is a 45 storey tower which will be the new home for BHP Billiton in WA.
The project is due for completion in mid 2011.
