REDCLIFFE-BASED Global Construction Services has launched operations in the state’s North West. The new division, in Karratha, will operate as GCS Northwest Pty Ltd, a subsidiary business to GCS Group. GCS Group managing director Enzo Gullotti said the new division was part of the company’s organic growth strategy to expand the business into diversified markets. JLL appointed to Subi renewal role THE Subiaco Redevelopment Authority has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle as the new sales agent for the Subi Centro urban renewal project, following a competitive public tender process. The SRA said the two-year contract was awarded to JLL due to its demonstrated strategic approach to partnering, strong state and national networks and track record with similar projects. SRA chief executive Tony Morgan said JLL offered a multidisciplinary team which would contribute to the achievement of high-level project objectives, such as sustainability and housing diversity. “The Subi Centro project is of national significance, and whilst we are in the final phases of redevelopment, some of the most significant real estate is yet to come to the market,” he said. JLL joint managing director (WA) Nick Stanisis said Subi Centro’s premium location in Subiaco had attracted the longterm commitment of residents, investors and commercial business owners. The Subi Centro project will convert 80 hectares of former industrial land in Subiaco into a sustainable inner-city community. On completion, the project will be home to up to 2,000 new residents in 900 new dwellings, and will have provided about 90,000 square metres of new commercial and retail space. Central to the project is Subiaco Square, which incorporates shops, restaurants, cafes and the Subiaco train station. Stage one of the 4.2ha former Australian Fine China factory site, to be called China Green, will be released later this year.
