Fremantle icon, the Roma restaurant, will be closing its doors on April 1st after serving eager diners for the last 52 years.
On ABC radio, Roma co-owner Morena Abrugiato said the pressures of working in the competitive hospitality industry had taken its toll.
"We would like to know a life outside of the Roma," she said.
"We don't want anyone else run the Roma," she said. "We own the building so we will close the restaurant and keep the premises."
The Fremantle institution, located on High Street, was opened in 1954 by Frank and Nela Abrugiato.
