After 16 years, Justice Mary Gaudron has retired from the High Court of Australia. Justice Gaudron was the youngest person appointed as deputy president of the Conciliation and Arbitration Commission, the first female QC in New South Wales, the youngest appointed as Solicitor-General for New South Wales and the first woman member of the High Court.
