Fremantle needs better office suites

FREMANTLE badly needs A-Grade offices says Fremantle Property Group proprietor and Fremantle waterfront development director Bob Shields.

Mr Shields made the comments at a recent Fremantle Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

“There aren’t any A-grade offices with a couple of exceptions,” he said.

He said the possibility was there for the ex-wharf sheds to be converted into first class offices.

“We need to stimulate the market and change the perception of Fremantle that companies have,” Mr Shields said.

Four hectares of waterfront real estate in the harbour could become a green, clean working park, he said.

He said interest was recently shown in Fremantle by a big company with about 400 staff but they had to look elsewhere in Perth because Fremantle did not have the right buildings for them.
