BEN Franklin, WA State manger of non-bank lender Aussie Home Loans has been appointed to the Board of the Water and Rivers Commission.
Born and educated in Perth, Mr Franklin has had around thirty years experience in the finance industry.
Water and Rivers Commission CEO Roger Payne said Mr Franklin would be of enormous benefit to the organisation as it moved into the future, including making use of its water trading rights.
Water rights trading is one change proposed in the Changes to the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act.
Mr Payne said Mr Franklin would round out the skills-based nature of the seven member Board overseeing the operation of the Water and Rivers Commission.
Mr Franklin brings to the Board a range of experience in relation to business, financial and operational management, and has worked in various locations throughout WA, interstate and Papua New Guinea.
His experience also includes involvement in the commercial
business sector in the technology industry.
