Forge Group has announced that its subsidiaries, Abesque Engineering and Webb Construction have won construction and engineering contracts at AngloGold Ashanti's Obuasi mine in Ghana.
AngloGold is spending approximately $50 million on upgrading its processing facilities at Obuasi, Forge said in a statement.
The contracts will be part rates and part lump-sum based, and will be determined once the scope of the works has been properly defined by Abesque.
Abesque will be responsible to develop the scope of work and cost estimates to recommission the oxide ore process plant and install facilities to re-treat reclaimed tailings.
Webb Construction and Cimeco will supply labour, equipment and consumable to undertake the construction.
Work is expected to commence in July.
