Kenyan-born agronomist Ken Flower is moving to Western Australia from Zimbabwe to take the position of scientific officer with the WA No-tillage Farmers Association.
After an early childhood on a wheat and pyrethrum farm that his father managed, Dr Flower moved to Zimbabwe before attending the University of Natal in South Africa.
He joined the Tobacco Research Board at its Kutsaga Research Station in Zimbabwe in 1985.
In 2000 Dr Flower was appointed technical manager of a company exporting fresh vegetables to UK supermarkets.
