First web ranking out

THE first ever ranking of Australia’s most popular web sites has been compiled by Internet research company IMR Worldwide.

An IMR spokesman said the report, based on the month of November, revealed the Internet habits of Australians, the information they seek, where they find it and how long they spend on specific pages.

The report revealed Australians most regularly visit the major portals such as Ninemsn and LookSmart, The sites drew 1.6 million and 500,000 unique visitors respectively.

Other regularly visited sites included cricket, job hunting sites such as Seek, online share trading, shopping and travel.
