Firetail appoints Poole as MD

Copper-focused junior Firetail Resources has promoted chief executive officer Glenn Poole to the role of managing director, effective immediately.

The appointment comes at a time when Firetail is gearing up for a drill program at its York Harbour copper-zinc-silver project, located in the Canadian province of Newfoundland.

Presently, Subiaco-based Firetail possesses a binding option agreement to purchase a stake of up to 80 per cent of York Harbour, courtesy of a staged earn-in process.

Mr Poole was appointed CEO of Firetail in July, following a stint with Greenstone Resources.

Aside from a director-based role at Greenstone – which merged with fellow junior Horizon Minerals in June – Mr Poole worked as the company’s chief geologist.

Firetail told the market it was confident the newly appointed MD’s technical and corporate experience would provide upside to York Harbour, along with its other assets in both Australia and Peru.

“It is an honour and privilege to have the full support of the board in assuming the role of managing director of Firetail Resources,” Mr Poole said.

“My recent visits to the Picha project in Peru and the York Harbour project in Newfoundland have reinforced the potential I see for both these projects to deliver significant value to shareholders.

“In Newfoundland, the team has assembled and we are eagerly awaiting the commencement of drilling and geophysics activities in the coming weeks. ‘

“Work is ongoing reassessing the historic core, so we can further understand and demonstrate the unrealised potential of this project.”

As of 10.33am WST, Firetail shares were up 5 per cent to 8.5 cents.
