The Regional Joint Development Assessment Panel today approved the Fini family’s proposal for a hybrid hotel on 10-12 Fearn Avenue in Margaret River.
The accommodation complex will include 37 units of both hotel rooms and family villas, a function space, a bar, a dining area, and guest amenities.
A three-storey carbon net positive building on the site will contain the 32 hotel rooms.
Applicant Pasta Shooter Pty Ltd this year submitted a development application, prepared by Urbis, to the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents show four members of the Fini family as owners of Pasta Shooter Pty Ltd, including Fini Group creative director Alessio Fini, the son of developer Adrian Fini.
Works are expected to start on the site in the second half of 2024, the Fini family said.
Fini Group said the family would also be the long-term operator of the Fearn Avenue hotel and restaurant.
Another major project in the South West region, at Smiths Beach, is being spearheaded by Adrian Fini.
The $280 million coastal resort development proposal has been submitted to the Western Australian Planning Commission’s State Development Assessment Unit.
