Feral still on top of craft beer game
Feral Brewing Company's head brewer Brendan Varis.

The Swan Valley's Feral Brewing has cemented its status as one of the nation's top breweries, with its Hop Hog India Pale Ale winning best beer for the third consecutive year at Beer & Brewer magazine's annual awards.

Feral also won the inaugural Craft Brewing Company of the Year award, recognising the brewery's consistent award-winning performances.

The awards add to an ever-growing list of accolades for Feral's Hop Hog, which has also twice taken out the top gong in The Critic's Choice: Australia's Best Beers book, which has been published for the past five years.

Feral was named Australia's best brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards in May last year, with Hop Hog winning best international pale ale.

Other Western Australian award winners at this year's Beer & Brewer awards included Beertender of the Year Matt Marinich, from The Quarie Bar and Brasserie in the southern suburb of Hammond Park.

The Monk Brewery and Kitchen in Fremantle was named Best Restaurant/Cafe as well as Best Brew Bar/Pub.
