Perth-based FIRM Construction has been selected by German mining machinery manufacturer Wirtgen Group to build a $40 million sales and service facility in South Guildford.
The project, which has been designed by T&Z Architects, will include warehouses, workshops and a two-storey office complex
Works will commence at the Great Eastern Highway site shortly, with construction set to be complete by mid-2014.
Wirtgen is a global leader in surface mining machinery, and counts Fortescue Metals Group and Global Surface Mining among its largest Western Australian clients.
FIRM counts Rio Tinto, the state government, Qantas and Aurizon as its major customers.
FIRM general manager Murray Simcock told Business News the company won a competitive tender process not because it offered the lowest price, but because of its comprehensive safety record.
Mr Simcock said the company had gone more than 300,000 hours without a lost-time injury.
