WHETHER you want to know how to grow your own olives or join in the wine and food-tasting festivities, The West Australian Olive Festival will provide you with a weekend of culinary delight.
Held just an hour out of Perth at Gingin, the largest olive growing region in WA, the event features guest chef Don Hancey.
Mr Hancey, a consulting chef to the caterers in charge of The Olympic Stadium, will cook recipies from The Western Australian Olive Festival Cookbook and will be available for advice, hints, and tricks of the trade.
Also on hand will be guest speaker Mohamed El-Kholy from Egypt to teach you all there is to know about growing your own olives.
This is the first time the event will be held and if successful organisers hope to run the event annually.
