On Thursday August 12 at the Cottesloe Civic Centre the Events Industry Association of WA will hold a workshop about how to raise sponsorship and how to better work in the sponsorship and events industry.
Former ASMA national president Anne-Maree Huxley will speak about how to raise sponsorship in the current economic climate.
Topics on the agenda include defining sponsorship and how to use it, how sponsorship fits into the marketing mix, the essentials of marketing, different money sources available – from grants to foundations and how to understand the make up of corporations and how their budget works, in order to choose which revenue streams would work best for sponsorship.
The workshop will also include exploring what sponsors expect in return and how to better work with them, national and international trends in the sponsorship industry, how to re-build corporate reputations through sponsorship, how to up-sell your sponsorship, how to conduct customer research on a budget and how to get more from this.
The latest trends in hospitality, how to write a proposal, why sponsorships fail, the sponsorship code of ethics and best practice examples, what to do if rejected and how to survive and prosper as a sponsorship practitioner will also be covered.
Registrations can be made with the Events Industry Association for members $300 or non-members $400.
