Small Business Development Corporation managing director George Etrelezis is to officially leave the organisation next week, ending the reign of one of Western Australia's great political survivors.
Mr Etrelezis is understood to have spent more than two decades at the head of the entity charged with assisting the development of small business in the state.
During that time he has withstood the winds of political change as governments of both hues came and went.
A spokesperson for Small Business Minister Norm Marlborough said Mr Etrelezis is negotiating redundancy terms. He is understood to have taken leave and his former lieutenant Steve Moir is in the role of acting CEO.
