Energy Policy in Western Australia

Energy Minister Alan Carpenter will make a luncheon speech on energy policy in Western Australia for the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) on May 13 at the Mercure Hotel. The presentation will outline the Labor Government’s energy policies and priorities for the next term of government. Mr Carpenter is expected to provide an update on the reform of the electricity sector, explain the government’s priorities for Western Power, provide an outline of policies on sustainable energy, and the position on reforms to energy at the national level. A former journalist, Mr Carpenter was elected to Parliament in 1996 and was previously Education Minister before being appointed Energy Minister upon the Gallop Government’s re-election in February 2005.
