Local IT services provider Empired has won a $9 million contract from the South Australian government, in line with the company’s east coast expansion strategy.

Empired on Thursday said it would provide a range of services to the Department of Innovation and Skills (DIS), including program management and digital and data services to replace and modernise the department’s core systems.

The Perth-based company is leading a consortium of South Australian vendors to complete work under the two-year contract.

Empired said the project was a material win for the company and demonstrated the progress made on executing its east coast expansion strategy.

Managing director Russell Baskerville said this was a critical market for Empired, with east coast sales forecast to be 50 per cent higher in the 2021 financial year than in FY20.

“We are delighted to have been selected by DIS as their primary digital transformation partner and are excited to work closely with the department over the coming years to modernise and extend the range and accessibility of digital services provided by the department,” Mr Baskerville said.

Regional sales manager Jeremy O’Donohue said Empired’s technology was the best of its kind for a digital transformation in the SA public sector.

The tech being used will cover digital solutions, portals, stakeholder engagement, integration, data management, and analytics.

Shares in Empired closed up 0.6 per cent to trade at 88 cents.
