A PERTH-based electronic retailing website that has been specifically designed for quick use will be launched in March.
The site – www.star mall.com.au – will feature top sellers from around sixteen stores and offer reward points for consumer loyalty.
More than 120 product lines will be initially available at a discounted price including books, CDs, whitegoods and wine.
StarMall managing director Cliff Edwards said the site passed orders directly to the supplier, who provided goods at a competitive wholesale rate.
With no warehouses and low staff numbers, savings could be passed on to the consumer.
“We are not planning to list on the Australian Stock Exchange as our concern is purely electronic business,” Mr Edwards said.
“Unlike many other e-tailing sites, our site has been designed to be visually simple so it’s very quick to use.
“Your shopping basket is permanently displayed on the page so you can keep track of what you’ve spent.”
Mr Edwards said the lead up to the launch would be spent recruiting suppliers.
