Eight firms for $200m bridge and road contract

Main Roads Western Australia has awarded a $200 million panel contract to eight engineering businesses, with US-based KBR the only new addition from the previous contract.

Under the panel contract, the companies will provide engineering and technical services on an ongoing basis in relation to road and bridge design.

The contract will commence on August 1 and run for five years.

Jacobs Engineering, WSP, BG&E, KBR, GHD, Arup and a joint venture between AECOM and Aurecon were the engineering companies selected.

The new panel agreement replaces a three-year contract, which involved seven firms, and expired in March last year.

That contract was originally $100 million, but was later revised and increased to $134 million.

The contract encompasses every region of Western Australia.
